Our tournament will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 10:30 AM at CrossFit La Crosse, 303 Causeway Blvd. La Crosse WI 54603. Our sponsors include CrossFit La Crosse, Preferred Rate Insurance, GNC Onalaska, and wodbum.com. Also, Spikeball corporate has set us up with a couple Spikeball sets to give out as prizes! Other sponsors have prizes such as t-shirts, supplements, and gift cards.
Are you a beginner? Don’t worry. Our tournament will be set up with initial league play, and then we will separate teams into upper and lower divisions to play out the rest of the tournament. We will end up with both upper division winners as well as lower division winners. Give it a try. It’s a blast, and it will be a great day with awesome people! I’m a thrilled newby ambassador of all things Spikeball! As of November 28, 2017, I have been honored to be accepted as a Spikeball ambassador. If you haven’t heard of Spikeball, you will most definitely need to check it out as it is the greatest game created in the last 4 decades, at least!
I found the game of Spikeball in the summer of 2017 while some of my hooligan friends and I were up to some shenanigans on that lovely sandbar called Crater on the Mississippi, downriver from La Crosse WI. My pal Stout would rake my ears against concrete if I didn’t tell you that she introduced me to this awesome game so THANK YOU SAM! Stout and I (Papa Stout, dubbed via CrossFit La Crosse coach Jen on accident – but it stuck) have had plenty of winning spikes on that round net and have amassed a good deal of follower friends, their tongues hanging down in awe at our Spikeball prowess, whether on the sand with beer in hand, in full competition on grass, or in the tight Preferred Rate Insurance office (eat it Nick!).
And now it’s a passion and it got that way quick. OMG is this game fun! So much fun that I wanted more.
So here I am now, an ambassador, and I’m thrilled to be able to talk about, teach, play, practice and/or sleep with my Spikeball sets. I also get to sell and promote the game as well as HOST TOURNAMENTS! Yes TOURNAMENTS!
But shucks, it gets cold up here in Wisco! That’s not gonna stop us hardcore ballers though, is it! We’re having a tournament!! And huge thanks to CrossFit La Crosse for letting me hold my first tournament in their lair.
